It’s the beautiful Lebanon Valley in upstate New York, on the border of Massachusetts and close to Vermont. It includes the town of New Lebanon and also the surrounding towns of Stephentown, Canaan and Chatham.

New Lebanon has extraordinary history– in its day it was internationally famous for its warm spring. It was the national headquarters of the Shakers, and contains Shaker buildings at Mt. Lebanon recognized by the World Monuments Fund as one of the 100 most significant endangered sites in the world.

It was the home of tremendous innovation; the first lending library, the oldest pharmaceutical company in the country, the first American thermometers, even the first bread wrapper.

Now New Lebanon is innovating again, bringing its history to you. You can also find a revolution of small farms and food producers thriving on its hillsides. And people who are moving here because it is a wonderful place to live and run a business.
